The trend for small and intimate weddings isn’t going anywhere and, frankly, I think they’re fabulous. Small but perfectly formed wedding occasions with just your absolute favourite people make for lovely, intimate days full of love and with a real focus on romance.
Full-sized weddings are awesome, but small weddings are undeniably charming.

Even if you’re keeping the guestlist short, small weddings can be gorgeous, a true reflection of you as a couple and often completely free of peer/family pressure. It’s the kind of occasion that allows you free reign to do exactly as you please.
Small weddings also give you a bit more time for couple portraits (if that’s what you’d like). I think this is really indicative of the whole vibe of intimate weddings: they realign the focus of the day to the love, companionship, trust and intimacy between you two. They tend to put things like worrying about the table plan, stressing about transport methods and navigating difficult guests in the background. They are, without a doubt, the calmest, most stress-free way to get hitched.

Laura photographed our micro wedding last week & we were blown away by what an amazing job she did...she was so supportive & flexible. On the wedding day she was fantastic - friendly, professional...Laura couldn’t have done a better job of capturing our big day.

The run-up to your wedding can be a long and frantic marathon, make sure you carve out a little time for yourselves. An afternoon spent wandering around a place that’s special to you both (or just a really pretty beach or woodlands) is a lovely idea. I also conduct home engagement shoots - sometimes you just feel so much more at ease in your own environment.
An engagement (or “pre-wedding”) shoot can also do wonders for anyone who’s a bit camera-shy. Getting used to being in front of my lens really pays dividends on the wedding day itself: you’ll be so relaxed having your photo taken that it’ll almost feel like the camera isn’t there! Finally, it’s just a really nice way to get to know me before the day. The better we know one another, the better the photos.
Engagement photography sessions are a grand opportunity to spend a bit of quality time together as a couple ahead of the wedding day.
