Lifestyle Baby Photography Session at Home

For this lifestyle baby photography session, I photographed baby two weeks after she was brought home. The family invited me, their local newborn baby photographer, to photograph the new family addition.

This photography session was very special for me to capture as Mum and I have known each other since we were 11 years old and went to school together!

Photographing Baby in the Home

It was a very chilled lifestyle baby photography session, and I spent roughly two hours with them at home in Shropshire as they went about their morning and I captured what unfolded. During these lifestyle sessions in the comfort of your own home, as well as watching and capturing what unfolds, I do also photograph individual portraits of the baby, siblings and the family as a whole. On this session big brother and big sister made an appearance as well as Grandma who was visiting from South Africa.

Proud Mummy wanted a very natural, unposed baby photo session which complimented the images she had taken of her first child. When they lived abroad another photographer had captured baby M’s big brother, also at two weeks old, and the family wanted images to display on the walls of their home which were in a similar style.

Having photographed hundreds of weddings, I can tell you this: the couples who look the most relaxed aren’t the ones with the “perfect” plan… they’re the ones who aren’t trying to do everything themselves. There are a few tiny jobs that make a massive difference to how smoothly your day runs – and they’re exactly […]
