Wilde Lodge sits above the River Teme, perched in 15 to 25 acres of unspoilt countryside on the border of Powys, Shropshire and Herefordshire. It’s a beautiful country house, but the soul of it is something more relaxed than that description suggests – friends camping in their own campervans on the grounds, guests sleeping in bell tents, a whole weekend together rather than a single day that disappears in a blur.
I’m Laura, hi!, a wedding photographer based in Shropshire, photographing celebrations across the UK with a romantic, fine-art documentary-led approach. I’ve photographed four weddings at Wilde Lodge and know it well, how the light falls across those Welsh border views, how the weekend energy changes the atmosphere of the day itself.

Couples who choose Wilde Lodge aren’t trying to fit a wedding into a schedule, they’re creating an experience for the people they love most. Guests who maybe don’t see each other often enough. Family scattered across the country who finally have a reason and a place to be together properly. The wedding day sits at the centre of a whole weekend, which means by the time the ceremony arrives everyone is already relaxed, already connected, already celebrating.
From a photography perspective that’s extraordinary. The stiffness that sometimes exists at the start of a wedding day – the nerves, the formality, the guests who don’t quite know each other yet – it’s largely gone by the time I arrive.
The setting
The Welsh border countryside around Wilde Lodge is genuinely beautiful; rolling hills, river views, unspoilt landscape that feels a world away from anywhere. The grounds offer real variety for portraits: open countryside with those sweeping views, the lodge itself as a backdrop, and that particular quality of light you only get in a landscape this undisturbed.
Guests can stay in the main house, pitch campervans on the grounds, or sleep in bell tents; which gives the whole weekend a relaxed, festival-adjacent energy that couples who love the outdoors absolutely love.

“We chose Laura to photograph our wedding as soon as we possibly could – when we saw her images of other weddings we knew she was perfect for us. She captures the natural beauty in every shot which perfectly represents reality. We chose to do an engagement shoot to get to know Laura before our wedding and it was the best decision we made. Laura captured some beautiful images and certainly put my partner and I at ease throughout the whole thing. Before the wedding we had excellent communication with Laura and she spent time to call me to give me some advice on the wedding day timings based on her experiences. The quality of the photos is fab, and she has captured parts of our day (with us in the photos) which we don’t remember happening at all. We can’t wait to see the final gallery when she has finished editing. In summary – choose Laura for your wedding photos and you certainly won’t be disappointed! It’s been a real pleasure to get to know her and I’m a tiny bit sad that we won’t be able to hang out with her again!”
