Timeless Romance Wedding Photography | Dunwood Hall Staffordshire

Last year I invested in wedding photography training and mentoring with Training ByLumiere, we were photographing lovely people every month, in beautiful locations and trying out everything we had learnt; I had an idea to organise my own styled shoot using local wedding suppliers and found the stunning Dunwood Hall Staffordshire wedding venue.

I was overwhelmed by the response from local wedding businesses to get involved with the wedding styled shoot titled ‘Timeless Romance’. Everyone involved made such an effort and I can’t say enough how beautifully it all came together to make some gorgeous images.

I fell in love with Dunwood Hall from the first time I drove up the driveway and the first thing you see is the gorgeous house and gardens. I met up with Delphine and we had a chat about the day and what I was hoping to achieve so I was thrilled when Delphine agreed to be apart of the day. Dunwood Hall is an intimate and exclusive use venue in Leek, Staffordshire and I felt it fit really well with the elegant and timelss theme for the shoot. Each room is painted in colour, with a vintage feel. On the day we were able to make use of each room, and the beautiful garden.

An old work collecgue from London who has recently relocated to Birmingham and started her own wedding stationery business, My Darlin’ Design, immediately reached out to say she would be interested in joining me. Aine was so lovely and took my initial ideal and ran with it. Before the end of the week there was a mood board on pinterest and we were sharing ideas. The styled shoot was perfect for Aine to showcase her new collection.

The friendly and gorgeous ladies at the wedding dress botique Adele Louise Bridal in Wolverhampton welcomed model Luci and I the Saturday before the shoot took place to try on dresses and find the perfect match for the theme of the shoot. With help from the friendly staff we eventually decided on a gorgeous lace Justin Alexander Bridal dress. There were so many options to choose from, but we settled on this particular dress as we felt it was elegant and timeless.

When it came to arranging the wedding styled shoot, I always knew there was one florist I would like to work with. I approched Jan Park from Blue in Shifnal to see if they would like to be involved. Jan was great from the first meeting and had some lovely ideas for flowers and colours for the theme of the day. Blue provided a stunning bouquet, button hole for our groom and beautiful head piece for Fran from SY! hair to work with. The flowers has the most gorgeous yellow, green and pink tones and I just loved photographing all the seperate peices.

Fran from SY1 Hair in Shrewsbury had some gorgeous ideas for Luci’s hair up do so to incorporate the floral head piece from Blue Florists and then later when we changed the hair style to use stunning hand-made hair jewellery from Jennie Glaze of ‘Jewellery Made By Me‘ based in Telford.

Fashion Jewellery was supplied by lovely Lorna over at MisGraceful Jewellery who aims to privide something a little bit different to the highstreet and also offers a personal shopping experience by matching jewellery to your wedding and bridesmaid’s dresses.

Two very lovely smelling and beautiful cakes, plus cake pops for the table setting, were made and supplied by Silivia Birchall from Fun Cakes and Cake Pops in Shrewsbury. I absouletly loved the naked cake and how Silvia had lightly coated the outside in a pink froasting.

Kelly Cooper from My Beautiful You was on hand to apply make up to model Luci. Again sticking to the theme we went for soft colours and muted tones.

And last but not least, thank you so much to my ‘non-models and not a real couple’ couple of models; Luci and Tom. We couldn’t have done it without you.

I am so happy with the results, below are links to all those involved, massive thank you’s to them!
