Elegant Davenport House Wedding

Elegant Davenport House Styled Shoot

This is a styled shoot at Davenport House (not a real wedding) from 2018 – created to show what’s possible in this beautiful Shropshire venue.

Check out this elegant Davenport House wedding photography styled shoot from last month!! I worked with total babe Alice Northrop from Alice Northrop Creative to create a ‘Vanity Fair at the Oscars’ inspired wedding shoot!

Vanity Fair Inspired Styling

I adore the Vanity Fair portraits which come out every year after the Oscars of the rich and famous and wanted to create something with the same elegant feel.

Alice and I came up with a mood board on Pinterest and Alice had a fab vision with the flowers.

Florals in deep greens and dark tones

Sarah from Petals by Sarah came on board and immediately understood Alice’s vision and supplied us with the most gorgeous flowers to fit with our vision of blacks, dark greys, deep greens and pops of colour for this elegant Davenport House wedding styled shoot. Full list of flowers used, below.

Davenport House wedding venue (Shropshire)

Davenport House, a Shropshire Grade 1 listed Georgian Country House, was the obvious choice for the shoot. Renovated to a beautiful standard, with high ceilings and windows stretching from the ceiling to floor – it was perfection for the whole shoot and really lends itself to gorgeous side light, dramatic images.

Dress, hair and accessories

Our stunning mermaid skirt crepe La Sposa dress was from Hagley Bridal Studios, and the bridal boutique’s owner, Louise, was a dream to work with on the day – nothing was too much for her. The stunning hair up do was created by Louise Price Hair Designs and she used the hand-made hair clips from Jenny at Shropshire Jewellery Designs, worked into the hair. Lucy, our model, looked amazing and I had to keep commuting on her smile – gorgeous!

Stationery, cake and table details

Lou Paper provided lush dark wedding stationery with sweeping lettering and elegant water colour detailing – which looked fab styled out on the table with ribbons from Silk and Purl. Alice styled the table with colourful plates and gold cutlery. The beautiful three tiered cake from Sugar and Bloom, dark blue with splashes of gold, sat perfectly amongst everything.

A selection from the day are below.

How to build a wedding playlist your guests actually love Crafting the perfect wedding playlist is genuinely one of my favourite parts of wedding planning – because it changes the whole feel of the day. The right music makes the ceremony hit harder, keeps the drinks reception buzzy, and gets everyone (yes, even your uncle) […]

Having photographed hundreds of weddings, I can tell you this: the couples who look the most relaxed aren’t the ones with the “perfect” plan… they’re the ones who aren’t trying to do everything themselves. There are a few tiny jobs that make a massive difference to how smoothly your day runs – and they’re exactly […]
