Hedsor House Wedding with Italian Garden theme

Nayen and Urvi’s Hedsor House wedding was nothing short of perfect – a total pleasure to be their wedding photographer. The stunning Georgian mansion was the perfect space for them to bring their Italian Garden theme to life, and I’m so thrilled to be sharing some luxury wedding inspo with you today.

Lush Italian Garden theme

I’ve been on a total journey with this beautiful pair! I first met Nayen and Urvi when they were guests at one of their cousins’ weddings which I was photographing (you can see that wedding here.) The next time we met, Nayen had flown me out to Florence to capture their rooftop engagement! (This shows you exactly the kind of levels of romance you’re about to see, so strap yourselves in.) We also had a pre-wedding shoot in their hometown of Cambridge, so by the time their Hedsor House wedding came round we were all ready to capture some more incredible memories.

In homage to their Florence engagement, and more generally their love of travel, they chose a lush Italian Garden theme for their Hedsor House wedding.

Hedsor House wedding venue

The opulence and romance of this theme matched Hedsor House wedding venue perfectly. Set in over 100 acres of parkland, and accessible via a rhododendron-lined driveway, it’s a magical venue that feels a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of London despite being not too far away. It’s also Tatler and Vogue’s dream wedding venue, which is quite the accolade, right?

In short, Hedsor House wedding venue feels a bit like a fairytale, and Nayen and Urvi immediately knew it was the place where they were going to make their dream come true when they viewed it. “It was the first wedding venue we viewed together,” Urvi explains. “I even made Nayen take a selfie with me outside when we viewed the venue as I knew straight away it was the one!”

Outdoors, there’s stunning stone steps and manicured gardens; inside, there’s beautiful frescoed walls, Georgian pillars, ornate fireplaces and four-poster beds. Nayen and Urvi made use of so many of these spaces for different parts of the day.

The Centre Hall ceremony

A huge part of bringing the Italian Garden theme to life was the flowers, expertly arranged by Seventh Heaven Events. The ceremony space, The Centre Hall, was adorned with huge, incredible floral displays, including two at the top of the aisle that framed the ceremony perfectly. Urvi’s bridesmaids descended down the Grand Staircase and down the aisle in stunning cornflower blue Monsoon dresses, before Urvi, looking incredible in a plunge, lace-bodice wedding dress, walked down with her dad.

Afternoon tea and lawn games

After the ceremony, it was time for cocktails and canapes on the lawn whilst we shot the couples’ portraits and group shots. I always recommend my couples include extra time in their timeline for portraits, so that we can be sure to make the most of the day and come away with lots of variety. Luckily, Nayen and Urvi did exactly this, as Hedsor House wedding venue has so many stunning locations for portraits!

Then, it was time for the meal. The Grand Hall is a jaw-dropping room decorated with wood-panelled walls and dripping chandeliers. After speeches and thanks, guests tucked into a divine-looking afternoon tea from Goose and Berry, which gave a really elevated picnic kind of vibe, in line with the theme.

Of course, with a garden theme, Nayen and Urvi wanted to spend more time in the actual gardens. Following their meal, they decided on a game of Mr or Mrs, where they sat back to back and had to answer a series of questions as to who was most likely to do something by raising either one of Urvi’s Jimmy Choos or Nayen’s brogues. It was hilarious, and made for some great photos of their guests.

Urvi also did the traditional tossing of the bouquet and, not to be outdone, Nayen did too (though no-one caught his…whether that was intentional, I can’t say!)

Dancing the night away (and pizza!)

Ask anyone what would constitute a great night, and the combination of dancing and delicious carbs are going to be pretty high up there. That’s exactly how Nayen and Urvi decided to round out their Hedsor House wedding – with a black and white dance floor ready for action and a pizza van specialising in delicious Neapolitan pizzas.

Hedsor House wedding photographer

I won’t lie – though I’m thrilled Nayen and Urvi had the day of their lives, I’m kind of sad it’s over, because I’ve loved working with them and getting to know them over the past couple of years!

Luckily, they feel the same (hhhmmm it would be awkward if they didn’t, wouldn’t it?). Here’s what they had to say about working with me:

“Laura is truly talented and her photos reflect just that. Her level of organisation prior to the wedding will ensure you have all the photos you want. She has ideas to help all along the way from locations of pre shoots to outfits. A wedding photographer to me was such an important aspect as you want someone not only to capture the day but all the emotions felt that day so that each time you look at the photos it all comes rushing back and Laura’s photos will do just that. We still cannot decide which to have printed! We cannot thank Laura enough for her incredible work. She went from being our wedding photographer to our friend.”
