Elmore Court Wedding Photographer

Elmore Court is the kind of venue that photographs itself – your job is just to show up and enjoy it.

A beautiful countryside house in Gloucestershire with stunning gardens, characterful interiors, and the Gillyflower – a purpose-built space for the wedding breakfast and party that manages to feel both dramatic and completely relaxed at the same time. It’s a venue for couples who want the celebration to feel genuinely special without being stiff about it.

I’m Laura, hi!, a wedding photographer based in Shropshire, photographing weddings across the UK with a romantic, fine-art documentary approach. I’ve worked at Elmore Court as a second photographer and know the venue well – the flow of the day, the best spots for portraits, how the light moves through those extraordinary interiors.

What makes Elmore Court special to photograph

The house itself is stunning – ornate ceilings, tall stained-glass windows, velvet sofas, open fireplaces. It has the grandeur of a historic country house without ever feeling museum-like. Couples who choose Elmore Court tend to want something that feels timeless and elegant, but with a proper party at the heart of it.

The Gillyflower is one of the most impressive purpose-built wedding spaces I’ve photographed in – warm, dramatic, and beautifully designed to feel like a natural extension of the house rather than a separate function room. When the lights drop and the dancing starts, it’s electric.

And the gardens. Elmore Court’s grounds are genuinely beautiful – mature planting, hidden corners, long views. The kind of setting where portrait time feels like a pleasure rather than a task.

Rain plan? Already sorted.

One of the things I appreciate about Elmore Court as a photographer is that bad weather genuinely doesn’t derail the day. The indoor spaces are strong enough to carry everything – ceremony, portraits, reception – without the day ever feeling compromised. If anything, dramatic skies over those gardens can be extraordinary.

My approach at Elmore Court

Calm, unobtrusive, documentary-led – with gentle guidance for portraits so you can get back to your guests quickly. At Elmore Court, where the venue does so much of the atmospheric heavy lifting, my job is simply to stay present and capture it as it unfolds.

How to build a wedding playlist your guests actually love I’ve photographed weddings since 2016. I’ve watched a lot of first dances. I’ve seen ceremony music make entire rooms cry, and drinks receptions fall flat because the music was wrong for the moment. Music shapes how your wedding day feels – not just sounds. Get […]

After nearly a decade of photographing weddings, I’ve had a lot of conversations with couples – before, during and after their wedding day. The same things come up again and again: what they’d do differently, what they wished they’d known, what genuinely didn’t matter as much as they thought it would. Here are 16 of […]

Having photographed hundreds of weddings, I can tell you this: the couples who look the most relaxed aren’t the ones with the “perfect” plan… they’re the ones who aren’t trying to do everything themselves. There are a few tiny jobs that make a massive difference to how smoothly your day runs – and they’re exactly […]
