Fun and Relaxed Shropshire Barn Wedding

Relaxed Wedding at the Hundred House Hotel Tithe Barn

When I first heard from Katie and Jonny, I knew immediately I wanted to be their wedding photographer for their fun and relaxed wedding at Shropshire’s Hundred House Hotel tithe barn.

Katie wrote me the most wonderful email, I printed it and stuck on the wall next to my computer…really! And yesterday I had the pleasure of witnessing just how loved Katie and Jonny are, and their love for each other.

Wedding venue

Shropshire’s The Hundred House Hotel is a venue I have driven past a zillion times on the way to see my Grandparents who lived in nearby Kidderminster and Stourport (and us in Shifnal!). I have stopped over the years for a drink, but I never knew the full extent of how lovely the venue was until we explored the gorgeous gardens for groups and couple portraits, and saw the renovated tithe barn for the wedding ceremony.

The fun and relaxed wedding flowed perfectly throughout the day, with the wedding party making use of the gorgeous gardens, the renovated 17th century tithe barn and the bar area. Katie and Jonny both love the outdoors and had their hearts set on the gardens being used for the group shots and the couple portraits – so thankfully the weather was on our side!

Why did you select The Hundred House Hotel as your wedding venue?

“As the venue takes care of all of the food, drinks, decorations, and the ceremony, meal and party are all held at the same venue with accommodation offered. And two small towns nearby with plenty of accommodation available. As we are getting married quite far away from our home, having all of those details taken care of by the venue and knowing they would help us and make us feel secure that everything is under control; was essential to the selection of the venue. And we are so happy with everything and so glad we went with this barn wedding venue because they do just that. In fact, they have won awards for doing just that. We did look at another venue and they did not fill us with the same assurance and confidence when it came to planning.”

The Party

Katie and Jonny’s first date was a lindy hop dancing lesson so they did not disappoint when it came to the dancing at the end of the night, toping off what was a fun and relaxed wedding from start to finish! I left as the dance floor was so rammed I couldn’t get on to take any photographs!

Thanks so much for having me to share in your amazing wedding day! Here are a few questions answered by the bride and groom:

What music have you selected for your wedding?

“The songs we have chosen to feature across the day, during the reception & evening playlists we have created and the song for first dance and aisle music all have special meaning to both of us. They are some of our favourite songs for dancing around the house and enjoying life. We have also chosen to have the first dance songs and aisle music our friends and family have used at their weddings to be played during the welcome drinks and meal to add a special touch to the day for them when they hear them”

If you’re planning a relaxed and fun wedding day, I’d love to be a part of it so please contact me and we can get an informal zoom chat booked in!
