There’s something about Davenport House that feels like stepping into a classic love story (“it’s a love story baby just say yes!” – that’s the only one, I promise) with a stylish twist. As a Davenport House wedding photographer drawn to emotion, light, and connection, this Shropshire wedding venue offers the kind of backdrops to make your story shine…effortlessly.
Nestled in the rolling Shropshire countryside, this Grade I-listed Georgian house is one of my all time favourite venues to photograph. The setting is exclusive, timeless, and incredibly welcoming. A true dream for couples who want a day that feels both beautiful and relaxed.

Elegant Davenport House celebrations, captured effortlessly
Where Your Story Begins: The Great Hall
With its sweeping staircase, grand double doors, and high ceilings, the Great Hall sets the stage for a ceremony full of romance. Whether you choose to glide down the aisle through the double front doors or descend from the staircase, your entrance will be unforgettable. The light in this room is soft and luminous, perfect for capturing candid, emotional vows in an elegant setting.
The Saloon Room
This is a fabulous space for couple portraits. With floor-to-ceiling windows and mirrored walls that reflect the afternoon light, the Saloon Room is both iconic and intimate. It’s where I love to guide couples into those quiet, romantic moments together for you to realise you’re actually married. Producing stunning photos with the most incredible dramatic light.
The Dining Room
The Dining Room is often, you guessed it, the setting for the wedding breakfast. A beautiful, high-ceilinged space with original features and framed artwork that makes every photo feel editorial. The mirrors bounce light around the room, giving everything a soft, luxurious glow. I often steal couples away for a few relaxed portraits here when you first see the room styled and ready to welcome your guests in, it’s the perfect pause before dinner and speeches begin.
Celebrations on the Lawn
There’s nothing quite like a Davenport House relaxed reception on the lawn with those Shropshire countryside views. With views stretching for miles, it’s the perfect spot for drinks, garden games, golden hour hugs with your favourite people and saying ‘hi’ to the local cows. IYKYK. The house provides a stunning backdrop, and the entire setting feels like a little escape from the world. Timeless, joyful, and more than just a little bit special.
Why Davenport House Couples Are My Kind of People

If you love a countryside setting with refined charm, beautiful light, and the kind of atmosphere that lets you relax and be fully present, it’s the one. As a Davenport House wedding photographer, I’ve captured elegant spring weddings, golden autumn celebrations, and each time I’m struck by how personal and meaningful wedding days feel here.

“We cannot explain how amazing those photos are. I cannot remember some of those being taken and it’s exactly what we wanted. We didn’t want to feel like we were being followed by paparazzi and you allowed us to enjoy our day and captured everything!! You are exactly what we wanted in a photographer. ❤️
They are just beautiful. You have captured our day perfectly and you’ve made all those incredible emotions flood back.
I couldn’t be more grateful if I tried. Thank you thank you thank you!!!!! I didn’t think they could be even better than the previews but they so are! There are many photos I adore. You are incredible xxxxx”

Real Weddings, not Styled Shoots
If you’d like to see how a full celebration comes together, head to Real Weddings -one gallery is Grace and Henry’s Davenport House wedding. Every photograph across my website was taken at a real wedding. On the rare occasion I share a styled shoot, I’ll say so. Styled shoots set the scene; weddings unfold, so expectations (and timings) are vastly different. If you can both picture yourselves within my work, get in touch.
